7witter

A tiny website I made as part of Netlify’s Dusty Domains charity campaign in December 2021. This was shortly before Twitter’s rebrand to X and its degeneration into the racist backwater we know it as today. I haven’t updated it since.

All it does is take a direct link to a tweet and render a page with an embedded version of that tweet using a Netlify server-side function. As it turns out, embedded tweets don’t respect account blocks, so for a blocked user it’s effectively like viewing the tweet in incognito mode.

It originally lived at 7witter.com and used the same tweet path as Twitter itself, meaning you could get to it by just swapping the t with a 7. That hack became irrelevant with the X rebrand, but for what it’s worth the embedding still works as of April 2026. After 5 years of operation, I’ve let the domain expire in December 2026. The site has been relocated elsewhere for posterity.
